SeaArt AI Review 2026: A Generation Studio That Added Companions

SeaArt turns up in searches for virtual girlfriends and AI companion chat, which is how most people find it. That is slightly misleading, and understanding why saves you a lot of time.

SeaArt is a generation platform. Images, video, audio, a community that remixes each other's work. The companion chat exists, and it is real, but it is a feature on a creation tool rather than the reason the product exists.

If you know that going in, it is one of the most capable things in this space. If you do not, you will wonder why it does not behave like the companion apps it sits next to in the results.

The model menu is the actual product

Open SeaArt and the front page is a list of current models: GPT Image, Seedance, MiniMax H3, Wan, Seedream Pro, plus motion control, a dress-up tool, an agent mode and a command line interface.

That list is the single best reason to use this platform. These are recent releases, and SeaArt adopts them quickly. For anyone doing serious generation work, being able to run the same prompt through several frontier models and compare is genuinely valuable, and most consumer products give you one model and never tell you which.

It is also, worth saying plainly, almost irrelevant to companionship. When you are talking to one character, you do not want a model menu. You want her face to come back the same every time, which is a consistency problem rather than a model selection problem.

Two different products, two different jobs

A generation studio optimises for range. More models, more styles, more control, more parameters. Success is a striking image.

A companion app optimises for identity. One character, the same face, the same voice, the same memory of last week. Success is that she is recognisably herself in a photo you asked for mid-conversation.

These goals genuinely conflict. Maximum flexibility is the enemy of consistency, because every new model, style and parameter is another way for the face to drift. Platforms that try to do both usually do the first one well.

Test it on any platform, including ours: ask for two images of the same character in different settings, open both at full size, and compare the faces to each other and to the profile picture. On a studio-first product the drift is usually visible immediately.

The privacy default is the thing to check

This deserves more attention than it usually gets in reviews.

SeaArt is explicitly a community. Create, remix, share, grow together. The product is designed around work being seen by other people, and that is a legitimate and appealing design for an art platform.

It is also the opposite of what most people assume when they generate something intimate. A companion app starts from the premise that the conversation and the images are yours and nobody else's. A community platform starts from the premise that creations are social objects.

Before you generate anything personal on any community platform, find the visibility setting and confirm what it is set to by default. Not after. Before.

The learning curve

The breadth has a price. Model selection, parameters, reference images, motion controls. If you have used generation tools before, this is a playground. If you arrived wanting to talk to someone, the interface will feel like a video editor when you expected a chat window.

Neither reaction is wrong. They are just answers to the question of what you came for.

Pick SeaArt if

You want current models and a lot of them, you enjoy a creative community and remixing other people's work, you are doing generation as the activity itself rather than as part of a conversation, and you are comfortable with a platform whose default posture is public.

Pick a companion app if

You want one character who stays recognisably herself across the chat, the photos and the video. You want her to remember what you told her last week. You want the images to arrive inside the conversation because you asked, not in a separate studio tab. And you want all of it private by default.

At Sparkles the image generation runs on our own GPUs rather than calling a third party API, and that is specifically what buys the consistency: the same character comes back with the same face, in the scene you described, in the chat where you asked. Daily free credits and no card needed.

Verdict

SeaArt is an excellent AI generation platform with the most current model lineup in consumer reach and a genuine creative community around it. If generation is the activity you want, it is a strong choice.

It is not a companion product, and the searches that lead people here are mismatched to what they find. The chat is real but peripheral, the design assumes an audience, and consistency of one character across many images is not what a studio optimises for. If that is what you were looking for, you are looking for a different kind of product, and it is what we build.
